If you've found yourself in a similar situation, this list is for you. Often, finding a song that both the dancer and choreographer agree on is extremely challenging. Contemporary and lyrical solos are very popular and it seems that around this time of year I spend a lot of time looking for songs with "all the feels" that will not only pull the audience in, but also pull at their heart strings. Dancers decide they want to do a solo, so they and their choreographer go searching for the perfect song. Okay, yeah, it's back-to-school time, but I'm thinking about something else.solo time. I cannot imagine anyone else guiding my daughter in her journey, and I truly feel as though she is the little expressive person she is today, because of so much she has learned from Aretese.Yes, it is that time of year again. My daughter has become the exact dancer she wants to be, at a very young age because Aretese allows her to be herself in all aspects of the art. We owe all of this to Aretese! There are no words to describe the level of professionalism and talent she exudes. Her attitude and poise have been perfected, her love for dance enhanced week by week and her LOVV for the art magnified through movement and music. In turn, my daughter has spent the first, most precious 4 years of her life being challenged and rewarded in so many ways. You spend time googling nearby places, researching instructors, and visiting studios for the right fit for you and your family. There comes a time in your adult life, when you need to choose a dance studio for your young daughter. The recital pieces will always be new and different so while the class label may stay the same, our students not only continue to build their dance skills, french vocabulary, and strengthen proper technique, but they will learn a different dance for the recital each year. The practice never changes, but the students learn and grow with each year of work. The plies and releves that our Tiny Dancing 2's and 3's learn are the same as our advanced students do each week in their ballet classes. ![]() There is so much to learn and the foundation of dance technique is repeated through every age and level. Dancing at the same level for multiple years doesn’t mean they’re not progressing or “moving up. For example, our Level 1 classes are for dancers ages 6-8 so those students have been taking Level 1 from about Kindergarten - 2nd grade. ![]() However, we do not have dance levels that correspond with every school grade, so dancers will spend a few years in each level at the studio. We give age guidelines for each level of classes available. Children will explore the essence of movement that will lead to the discovery of multiple styles of dance. Our DiscoverDance 1 classes offer an outlet for creative expression, physical growth and social interaction. Live singing, musical play and sensory props will have these little ones moving and grooving with their friends and eager to return to class each week.ĭiscoverDance 1 (Ages 3-4): Discover the magic of imaginative play with live singing, structured explorations and skill development. ![]() Following directions, waiting for our turn and collectively problem solving will encourage emotional and social development.
